HMS Pickle Dinner
HMS Psyche is pleased to invite you to our 9th annual HMS Pickle Dinner. Dress in your finery and celebrate the Battle of Trafalgar (1805) and the immortal memory of Lord Nelson. HMS Pickle was the smallest vessel in Nelson’s fleet after Trafalgar, and this small schooner was dispatched to England to carry the news of the great victory and the death of Nelson. HMS Pickle landed in Portsmouth with the news on November 4, 1805.
The dinner consists of a sumptuous three course meal created by Port Credit Yacht Club's chef and his brigade.
* Hors d'oeuvre: Deep-fried Pickles
* First course: Cream of Watercress
* Main course: Chicken Montmorency, pan roasted chicken supreme stuffed with dried cherries, apricots, pine nuts and fresh herbs, spun Yukon Gold potato, fresh vegetables and a Grand Marnier jus
Vegetarian option: Eggplant parmigiana
* Dessert course: Spotted Dick steamed pudding
* Tea and coffee service
Many naval toasts and speeches are made during the evening.
Dress code: Napoleonic military or civilian attire, mess or service uniform for active or retired Canadian armed forces personnel or civilian business attire.

Beverages are payable at the bar by credit card only.
A silent auction of donated items will take place, as a fundraiser for the maintenance and improvement of the Society's longboat.

Engagement at Bradley House
Celebrate Mississauga’s heritage at Bradley House, also the grounds for The Anchorage, the retirement home of Royal Navy Commander John Skynner (1762 -1846). There will be displays of early 19th century material culture, a rousing land battle or two, and of course, our boat!
This is a weekend-long historical reenactment in period kit. Participants are encouraged to attend for the weekend starting Saturday morning. Limited loaner kit is available. Day trippers and supporters welcome throughout the weekend.

Orillia Pirate Festival
Arrrrr! Join Cap’n Rottingham for a weekend of debauchery an’ plunder at tha Port of Orillia. Bring yer best pirate slops an’ fiercest swords. Tha Lord Mayor be lookin’ fer a show, and a show we shall give ‘im.

Hamilton & Scourge Memorial
On the night of August 7-8, 1813, a sudden squall came over the American fleet stationed off Port Dalhousie, causing the schooners Hamilton and Scourge to capsize and sink. 50 sailors were lost. This event was the greatest single loss of life on the Great Lakes during the entire war. HMS Psyche will memorialize the loss of these sailors by firing a salute outside Port Dalhousie.
This is an in-costume event. Extra costume available if you don’t have any.

Port Colborne Canal Days
Visit HMS Psyche at Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum for a celebration of maritime heritage. We’ll have the boat set up by the museum, musket and cannon demonstrations, and a full display of replica equipment from the early 19th century!
Battle of Humber Bay III
Psyche will face off against United in a battle of sail and oar. Which boat will emerge victorious?
This will be an in-kit (costume) event. We will launch from Humber Bay Park.

Celebrate the landing of the Loyalists following the American Revolution (1783) at the United Empire Loyalists Museum in Adolphustown.
This is a weekend-long historical reenactment in period kit. Participants are encouraged to attend for the weekend starting Friday night. Limited loaner kit is available. Day trippers and supporters welcome throughout the weekend.

PCYC Sail Past
Join us for this annual tradition of saluting the yacht club’s Commodores. Our host, Port Credit Yacht Club, puts on a grand celebration with good food and good friends. We’ll be out sailing with most of the yacht club’s fleet. To top it all off, we salute by firing our cannon!
9:00 am: Meet at PCYC, rig and launch
11:00 am: Ceremony starts on the lawn behind the clubhouse
11:30 am: Skipper's meeting and Garden Party Luncheon for all participants
1:00 pm: Fleet leaves harbour
2:00 pm: Sail Past begins (with ample time for sailing)
4:00 pm: Recover boat and down-rig
5:00 pm: Head home

Holland River Rowing Expedition
An exciting river row along the Holland River. We will be launching close to the old Holland Landing depot at the top of Yonge Street, and will follow the river to Lake Simcoe, recreating one of the historic supply routes through early Canada.
Meet at Albert’s Marina - 21019 Bathurst St North, Holland Landing, Ont.. Parking is included in our launch fee (covered by the Society).

Naval Skills Day
Join the crew of HMS Psyche to learn a wide range of skills related to naval reenacting. If you're interested in learning about the hobby and meeting the crew, this is an excellent opportunity. The event is hosted comfortably inside the 'stone frigate' - Lakeview Cheese Galore.
Topics include knots, ropework, basic sailing, musket and pike drill, interacting with the public, and planning a cruise. Get hands-on interactive training by the best naval reenacting crew in the hobby. A wonderful cheese plate will be provided by Lakeview Cheese Galore, and you will have an opportunity to buy more cheese from the store after the event.
All are invited to attend. Reenactors are encouraged to wear period kit.

Port Credit Cenotaph Rededication
On Saturday September 27, Port Credit will re-dedicate our Cenotaph to mark the 100th Anniversary of Remembrance and our continued efforts to Never Forget. This day, starting at 10am, with include a formal service, followed by community events. Come out and be part of a unique event that dedicates sacrifice and brings the community together.

Psyche vs Playfair
Sail with Psyche as she takes on the Brigantine Playfair, protected by the venerable 2nd York Militia. This battle under sail will challenge both vessels in seamanship, and bring naval history to life!

The Gibraltar Expedition
HMS Psyche has received sealed orders from Commodore Yeo, only to be opened off the mouth of the Humber River. This mission is vital for England!
Join HMS Psyche for a challenging historical scenario under oar and sail, in and around Humber Bay. We will meet and launch at the Humber Bay Park boat ramp. We will sail in 1812 kit.
If you've never sailed with us before, no problem! Loaner kit is available, and no experience is necessary!
